Downtime - Volume 4

With a new year comes a new look for the "Downtime" series. I'm simplifying things. You can still expect to enjoy five mini-posts in one, but now they'll be delivered in a fresh & streamlined way.

If you have something you'd like to see featured here, email me. Your "downtime" find might appear in a future post!

Here's what's on my radar this week...

1. If it's offbeat artwork at a budget-friendly price point that you seek, look no further than Thumbtack Press.

2. Simple forms & carefully conceived construction combine to create this wonderfully sculptural chair from Thomas Feichtner. Be forewarned... Outstanding design awaits you at his website.

3. Now that the weather is getting chilly, you may find yourself in need of a hooded scarf, like this beautifully handmade one from Noujica.

4. Don't miss this years Come Up To My Room event, happening at the Gladstone Hotel from January 26-29, right here in Toronto. Previous work, as pictured, by Eric Chan.

5. My latest crush... This gorgeous ikat fabric from Lina Rennell, available through Beklina. Lamp shade worthy? I think so!

Nice makeover. Sometimes, the best way to make the best on something is by simplifying it.
