Restyling 101: Insider Tips From The Pros

Sound the trumpets!

I've got some very exciting news to share with you today!

Myself and a group of super-talented ladies have joined forces to bring you the best dang blog series you ever did see!

Restyling 101: Insider Tips From The Pros will consist of 5 value-packed posts from 5 creative ladies who have each built businesses restyling furnishings & interiors.

We'll each be sharing insider information based on our own area of expertise. You'll get loads of tips, tricks, advice and secrets as well as some pitfalls to avoid.

Each of us has spent countless hours perfecting our methods and we want to share our combined knowledge with you!

The series will be running all next week, May 9-13. Each of us will publish one new post, on our own blogs, each day of the week (for a total of 5 posts). I will be updating the links in the post schedule (see below) as each post goes live. Be sure to check back everyday and follow the link to each post as the week continues.

Let's meet the pros!

Jelena of Poppyseed Creative Living

Jelena is inspired by unused and unwanted furniture and is driven by a desire to transform each piece into a one of a kind work of art.

In her shop, you will find delightfully distressed wood pieces with a character all their own.

Based out of Toronto, Jelena keeps herself busy around town! When she's not rocking the Green Living Show, her pieces are gracing the front windows of Freedom Clothing Collective.

Connect with Jelena on Twitter and be sure to stop by her shop & blog.

Amanda of Spruce

In 2007, Amanda traded in her stilettos for work boots and began Spruce, a furniture redesign studio based in Austin, TX. For the last four years, she and her team have transformed hundreds of worn out pieces into one-of-a-kind showstoppers. In addition to custom upholstery, Amanda teaches weekend workshops for aspiring upholsterers and has just finished production on her first instructional DVD set to be released in May 2011.

Connect with Amanda on Twitter & Facebook and be sure to check out her shop. While you're devouring all the goodness her website has to offer, be sure to check out her team of "Sprucettes" and of course, take a peak at her blog.

Kristen of KFD Designs

Kristen is a decorative interior painter who lives and works in Atlanta, Georgia. She focuses on bringing a "chic attitude" to decorative painting. She adores interior design, and directs her attention to creating unique spaces with her custom stencils and freehand murals.

Connect with Kristen on TwitterFacebook and check out all of her drool-worthy projects on her blog.

Nicole of Oh Clementine

Nicole is the designer behind Oh Clementine, a Texas based furniture redesign studio that offers reclaimed furniture, revived with vibrant colours, and subtly-sweet details.

Known for her hand stamped cards, completely cute chalkboards and her unexpected stencilling, each of Nicole's projects are truly fresh & unique.

Connect with Nicole on Twitter & Facebook and be sure to stop by her shop and, of course, her lovely blog.

Lia of Mod Pieces

Hey, that's me! Well, for those who are new here, I'm Lia, an interior designer based out of Toronto and the maker behind Mod Pieces. I restyle vintage lighting to create one of a kind, show-stopping, statement pieces. I'm also a contributing writer for Scoutie Girl.

When I'm not in my studio, I enjoy working with clients to create unconventional spaces that push the boundaries of conventional design because I believe that playing by the rules is boring.

Connect with me on Twitter & Facebook and I'd be ever so delighted if you stopped by my shop!

Here is the schedule!

Monday, May 9th - Jelena talks about distressing wood furniture.

Tuesday, May 10th - Amanda offers tips for upholstery projects.

Wednesday, May 11th - Kristen sheds light on the art of freehand painting.

Thursday, May 12th - Nicole discusses stencilling tips & tricks.

Friday, May 13th - Lia talks spray painting & accessories.

Each of these links will go live as the posts go live, so check back throughout the week!

As if that's not enough, we'll also be compiling all of the posts into a free e-book! If you'd like to get on the list to get yours first, just fill out the form below!
